Well, the final Bank Holiday of the summer is finally upon us.

Took today off to make a long weekend of it and went to Eden Camp near Malton which is an excellent museum giving a history of WW2 in a former POW camp. Definately recommend it - it really was good even if the staff in the "mess hall" (cafe) were strangely off hand and a bit odd....do pay a visit though if you're in the area.

Tomorrow Rolling Eyes we've hired a van to move some furniture down to my dads as we've got renovations starting on the house on Tuesday and we've got the builders / sparkys / plasterers / kitchen fitters in, so we're moving as much sh*te out as possible to stop it getting ruined during the work. As a result of the clear out there is also a load of stuff to go to the tip, so we'll be using the van for that too. (Oddly in Leeds you can only go to the tip with a van on a Wednesday or a Saturday...). I have to make sure I am in the van at 1pm to listen to the game Cool

Sunday we're doing a car boot to get rid of unsold ebay stock and other valuable pre-owned goods found during the clearout. That means up at 5am. Lovely. Then I've got to take the van back. To Holbeck.

Monday I am doing bugger all. And if that tw@t opposite starts mowing the lawn at 7.30am like he has the last two bank holidays I will not be responsible for my actions... Shocked

Hope you have a good one! Wink

Might find time for a bit of a lie-in Mr NE1 at Thruxton tomorrow but apparently he's all mine on Sunday and Monday Very Happy

If the weathers stays nice the family are off up to Bolton Abbey for the day and picnic!!

BTW Ravey, the reason they only accept vans at certain times is to stop trade waste being dumped there for nowt!!

Well? How did everyone's BH go then? We went off for the day to Bolton abbey. Sam's birthday as well. We all had a cracking time Sam was mesmerised by the Strid an how poerfully dangerous it is.

Had a BBQ there, swim and row in the river, how bastard cold was that!!!!!! Laughing Still the several bottles of wine soon put the warmth back in.

Cracking day!!

We did Wetherby racecourse and it was heaving. Cleared over a hundred quid so that covered the cost of hiring the van for the weekend Very Happy

Seems to me to be the best bootsale round here, very busy and loads of punters, plus the benefit they let the sellers in an hour before the buyers so you get to set up first.. I'd avoid Cross Green like the plague in future.
